The practice was appointed to sort out planning and listed building requirements for this project. The houses were sold off to private householders who were entitled to grants without the need for repayment. It required a leap of faith to buy in this derelict area and some nerve to refurbish in the hope that your neighbour would do the same. But it worked. The practice retained the role of master planners and acted as architects on a full appointment on some properties.
The completed scheme took 4 years and won environmental awards for the practice and for each property owner.
