Set within a conservation area, this unusual design was the response to the Home Office requirements for 'safe zones' around the building. The brief called for a 'street presence' and the requirement to offer an 'open and welcoming' presence.
The design is simple in its internal planning separated into 2 categories; smaller private spaces and larger open plan spaces. The entrance forms an edge to a public square, large areas of glazing on the main elevation allow for surveillance to enhance security. It is built primarily in red brick to stengthen continuity within the road.
