This project, funded by the Arts Council Lottery Grant, required the refurbishment and extension of existing facilities housed within a grade II listed building. This included a glazed café extension and link which connect the galleries of the main building to the previously detached gallery in the grade II listed Round Tower. The link enables visitors to view the resident artisans at work as part of the visitor experience. The design was developed to re-use much of the existing fabric and have simple, functional detailing whilst offering a sympathetic but contemporary aesthetic within the setting of the listed buildings.
