This award-winning School Hall is set in the village of Combe Down on the outskirts of Bath, a World Heritage Site. It is a much needed addition to the school as well as providing a venue for evening meetings and social events for the wider, local community.
The selection of materials; timber louvres, natural stone and cedar cladding result in a building that is sympathetic to the surrounding dwellings without mimicking their vernacular form. It is a further example of the practice gaining the trust of the Local Authority to push the boundaries of a site.
