Hawker Joinery, Northend
The development site is situated entirely within the Green Belt and Cotswold AONB and outside of the village development boundary. It is also within the village conservation area and within the setting of John Wood's grade II* 'Eagle House' . From day one it was clear that the site would present a number of challenging design and technical issues. To deliver a viable development that will facilitate the relocation of the joinery business the practice had to wrestle with significant constraints including flood risk, ecology, access as well as responding positively and sensitively to the surrounding village context and residential properties. The resultant scheme successfully delivers a high quality and desirable scheme that will enhance the wider landscape setting.
